The day Kwaku Anani, the director of Efle Productions was waiting for finally is here.
It came to pass that he had directed the famous writer, Precious Amanda's intriguing story; ''The Bells are Ringing, now on top of the billboard and was waiting for the remarks of the critics.
He had fallen so much in love with Precious' work that he had the zeal to bring it to life. After auditioning, he gave selected cast and crew two weeks to read and analyze the script. Also, he made use of his power as the backbone of the performance to hold meetings for both designers and performers. This enabled him to coordinate well with the performers to the extreme that it made them have intense interest in the play. It resulted in the designers also having an intimate knowledge about the characters.
Kwaku was so motivated with their commitment so far that it triggered him to be creative by adding his own ideas to the script without changing the concept. Moreover, the performers thought it wise that they had to put across the intentions of the character created by the playwright and that of the director rightly and clearly for the audience to understand. For the designers, it made their work spectacular since they were able to establish the locale and mood because the intentions were well communicated to them through rehearsals.
The director was then able to identify and establish the pace and rhythm in movement at which the play should go. From there, performers made sure they were conscious and knew the stage like the back of their palm. Whilst they did so, the designers also created the environment making sure all production elements were coordinating with each other. The main thing that helped them was rehearsals; that is why it is very necessary.
After the gnashing and grinding of the teeth, The critics came out with their remarks saying; ''this production is one of the best''. I say! for this to happen, all the bodies of a production house should be regarded as important.
